A week of reflection on life, death and birthdays (that’d be a great title of a movie) comes to an end in the most up-beat way imaginable.

The absolute, number one way I know not to worry about death–or stress out about birthdays–is because my Master rose from the grave.

In fact, it doesn’t have to be about death and birthdays; it can be anything we stress out over. I am not to worry about anything for the sole reason that my Savior got up and walked out of the tomb alive and well.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

There’s not a thing I should stress out over. Christ lives and reigns in Heaven and offers me the privilege to carry every fear, anxiety and burdensome bother to Him. When I do, He gives me peace.

How do I do that? How do I give Him those problems?

By recognizing that He is in control. By understanding that a life in Him means the promise of a worry-free eternity someday. With that in my mind, my mind is filled up with pleasant thoughts of Heavenly security and there’s simply no more room in my mind for things that worry and distract.

There’s a big empty grave way over in Jerusalem: Cast your burdens in there!

Have a great day!
