There once was a farmer who harvested a great crop. He decided one season’s reward was sufficient for life and thus he stored it up and set to retire.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Luke 12:19

He died that night.

Oh, how many people share in his overconfidence, without even having the harvest. At least the rich farmer could look at some worldly thing and lie to himself, thinking he had more time. Lots of people have every sign pointing to their soon end, but they live in denial, saying they have more and more and more time.

You’re not promised a moment more than the present.

Be faithful.
