Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

James 1:13-15

Having kids is tough. Having boys especially so. When my boys were younger, no matter how much I asked, begged, pleaded and threatened, they would still find their way to the dirt and would dig their fingers all in it.

Next thing I knew they had those dirty fingers in their mouth. A week later they were scratching their backsides like there was no tomorrow.

Booty worms.

If you’re not familiar with the term: It refers to little white pinworms that enter the body through the digestive tract and out your…well you know. An estimated 40,000,000 people in the US have them. Odds are, if you’re reading this…yep. You too.

It starts out innocently enough. You go to the place you shouldn’t go: The sand pit on the school playground. Your father told you to stay away, but you really wanted to because everyone else was. You played in the dirty sand and got the germs under your nails. Next thing you know its lunch time and you’re feasting away, never having washed that dirt away. The teeny tiny worms go in, they eat the food in your stomach and before long you’re iching like crazy. Its unbearable. You can’t sit still, you can’t sleep, you can’t function in normal society.

All because you haaad to go to the sand pit.

Lesson: Everyone is tempted. Don’t give in. It always comes back to bite you.
